mileage of a petrol car is 12 kmpl. mileage of a diesel car is 18 kmpl. price of petrol per litre is Rs.77. price of diesel per litre is Rs.65. the cost difference between the petrol and diesel car is Rs.200000. the cost of maintenance of petrolcar is Rs.8000 and that of diesel car is Rs.12000.
the interest of the car per annum is 12 percent per annum. what is the cost per km if petrol car is used and diesel car is used?

kvnmurty: what is interest of the car ?? is it interest on loan or is it earning of the car ??
sanjanab00: On loan. I want this answer as soon as possible.
sanjanab00: The car runs for 15000 km per year.
kvnmurty: I cannot edit answer now. So I write in comments. please see
kvnmurty: Assume cost of petrol car =Rs3,00,000. Diesel car=300000+200000=5,00,000 Rs. Loan to repay is 12%. So on petrol car= 36000. On diesel car loan repayment is = 60000. Fuel cost for 15000 km for petrol car is: 15000km * Rs77 / 12kmpl = Rs96,250. and for diesel car is = 15000km * Rs 65 / 18 kmpl = Rs 54,166. NOW total expenditure with petrol car per annum = loan 36000 + fuel 96250 + maintenance 8000 = Rs 1,40250. Total expenditure with diesel car = 60,000+54,166 +12000 = 1,26,166.
kvnmurty: Continue from above comment:. NOW if the cars are running at no profit no loss basis, the above total cost is for running 15000km per annum. So cost / km = 140250/15000 = Rs 9.35/km for petrol car. cost/km of diesel = 126166/15000 = Rs8.41/km.

mileage of petrol M1  = 12 km per litre    for diesel M2 = 18 kmpl
  price of petrol  P1 = Rs 77/letre    for diesel = P2 Rs 65 / litre
  cost of petrol car = C1 = x  Rs        for diesel = x + 200000 Rs
  Maintenance of petrol = m1 = 8000 Rs / annum       diesel = 12000 rs / annum
Interest of car  =  12 % per annum    -  is it interest on a loan ??
How many kilometers a car will run a year ?  How many years a car is to be used?

We need to know
Running cost per km : petrol  :  P1/ M1 =  Rs 77 / 12 km = Rs 64.17 /km
                                 diesel :   P2 / M2 = Rs 65 / 18 km = Rs 36  km

kvnmurty: Assume cost of petrol car =Rs3,00,000. Diesel car=300000+200000=5,00,000 Rs. So cost / km = 140250/15000 = Rs 9.35/km for petrol car. cost/km of diesel = 126166/15000 = Rs8.41/km

mileage of petrol P = 12 kmpl
for diesel D = 18 kmpl
price of petrol  p = Rs 77/letre
for diesel d =  Rs 65 / litre
cost of petrol car CP= x  Rs
for diesel CD= x + 200000 Rs
Maintenance of petrol MP = 8000 Rs / annum
diesel MD= 12000 rs / annum
Interest of car  =  12 % per annum
Running cost per km : petrol  :  P/ MP =  Rs 77 / 12 km = Rs 64.17 /km
                                 diesel :   D / MD = Rs 65 / 18 km = Rs 36  km
