Mammary glands are exocrine glands responsible for lactation. Mammary glands are arranged in breasts of primates and dugs of other animals.

A mature mammary gland consists of alveoli lined with milk-secreting cuboidal cells.

These alveoli join to form groups known as lobules. Each lobule has a lactiferous duct which opens into the nipples where milk can be sucked out from.
