Given :  Two mixture p and q of milk and water in the ratio 2:3 to form mixture R  , ratio of milk to water in the mixture q is 5:1  and profit earned 25 %

To find : percent of water in Mixture p

Solution :

Let say ;

Final Mixture = 5L

2L from P  & 3 L from Q

Pure Milk = M litre

then M * 1.25 =  5

=> M = 4 Litre

=> W = 1 Litre

3 Litre from Q

MIlk in 3 Litre Q  = (5/6) * 3

= 2.5 Litre

Water in Q = 0.5 Litre

Milk in P = 4 - 2.5 = 1.5 litre

Water in P = 1  - 0.5 = 0.5 litre

Percent of Water  = (0.5/2) * 100

= 25 %
