Direct speech to indirect speech:-

Direct speech:- Mina says to Tina , "I help you because you help me."

Indirect speech:- Mina tells to Tina that she would help her because she(Tina) helped her(Mina).

What is direct speech?

The actual words of the speaker with punctuation is called Direct speech.

Ex:- He said , "I am busy now."

What is indirect speech?

The meaning of the substance of speakers words in the sentence is called Indirect speech.

Ex:- He said that he was busy then.

Rules for changing direct speech into indirect speech:-

  • The inverted commas are omitted in the indirect speech.

  • The capital letter with inverted commas will not remain capital in indirect speech.

  • While changing we have to be aware of Verb.

  • An affirmative sentence/simple sentence use that as linker.

  • The tense of the Verb will be changed while changing the speech.

  • The pronoun should be changed according to the sense of speech.

Note:-

When the given sentence is universal fact then the sentence cannot be changed.
