In the poem, On the Grasshopper and Cricket, Keats writes about the grasshopper and the cricket. He compares the chirping of both the insects to poetry of earth. The grasshopper is usually heard chirping delightedly in the summer and the autumn seasons.
The same chirping is carried forwarded by the cricket during the winter season. The cricket’s song in the winter gives a feeling of warmth to the hearer. And reminds someone in his drowsiness the promise of return of summer.
