1. J, Harris and the dog visit Moulsey, busiest dock on the river. Many people are enjoying boating, everything looks there lively and pleasant.
2. They talk about the color one wears and his personality is revealed through it. The narrator feels Harris' complexion is too dark for yellow, as he likes to wear a combination of red and orange.
3. Description of girls on their boating trip by the narrator wherein they behave awkwardly trying to escape the splash of water by their umbrella and tried to cover themselves with rugs and coats.
4. They visit Hampton Court and the narrator rejects Harris' wish to visit Mr. Thomas's tomb. J recalls a man from his visit to village church where he had a scary experience. 
5. Harris, in his effort to bring lemonade and water, pulls the boat in the wrong direction and the boat goes back to the bank with Harris in the hamper. It infuriates him.
