Given : Mineral water factory has 6 machines that package 3000 bottles in 1 hour.

There is an inverse relation between the number of machines and the time taken to do the work.

Equation of inverse variation: x_1y_1=x_2y_2

If  4 more machines of the same type are also put into use, the total machines now = 6+4=10

Put  x_1=6,\ y_1=1 and x_2=10  in the above equation , we get

6\times1=10\times y_2\\\\ y_2=\dfrac{6}{10}=0.6

Time taken by 10 machines = 0.6 hour = 0.6\times60=36\text{ minutes}  [1 hour = 60 minutes]

Time difference = 60 minutes - 36 minutes = 24 minutes.

So , it will take 24 minutes less.
