- there is immense pressure on land for food production. As the area under cultivation is limited but the demand for is increasing day by day because of ever growing population.In order o meet the requirement we are using excessive fertilizers which is degrading the quality of land n the long run making it unfertile.

2- In name of modernisation and development we area clearing land under forest for developing infrastructure which leads to deforestation. Deforestation leads to flood drought and leachin of minerals which ultimately degrades the quality of land.
