In the story Kabuliwala Mini was very dear to her father. He loved her and listened to her silly questions and patiently answered them. She was more close to her father who was a novelist, than her mother. Her mother would sometimes chide her for talking too much but her father never complained about it. In fact he loved her childish prattle and encouraged her.
