Mira's mother is stitching a frock with the help of a sewing machine for her. Mira observes that the sewing machine remains at the same location while its wheel rotates and the needle moves up and down.

(a) The type of motion, the needle undergoes is Periodic oscillatory motion because the oscillatory motion is one in which the object moves to and fro from its mean position. And the needle moves up and down in an equal interval of time. Therefore, we say that the needle undergoes periodic oscillatory motion.

(b) Wheel moves for a particular motion, known as Circular motion. Circular motion is one in which the object rotates along the circular path. As the wheel rotates along the circular path, it is said to exhibit circular motion.

(c) The sewing machine does not move with respect to Mira. The sewing machine is at rest with respect to Mira as the machine stays at its original position and Mira is also observing it from the same location.
