Mirror formula - def. Formula which gives the relationship between image distance, object distance and focal length of mirror is called as mirror formula.

1/ f = 1 /v + 1/u

Magnification - def. Linear magnification produced is equal to the ratio of image distance to the object distance with a minus sign.

m = - v/u

Hope this helps:)

mirror formula rate object distance image distance and the focal length of the given type of mirror

 \frac{1}{v}   + \frac{1}{u}   =  \frac{1}{f}
v = image distance
u= object distance
f= focal length

magnification is the ratio of the size of the image by the size of the object

m =  \frac{h.i}{h.o}  =  \frac{ - v}{u}
h.i = height of image
h.o= height of object
and magnification is - for real image
