Misconception is the main theme as one suspicion led to another. Sletherby was not able to realize that Bertie had not lied to him.

  • Philip Sletherby was traveling in train towards Brill Mano. He wanted to get reappointed and looked for the assistance of a powerful woman named Saltpen Jago.
  • His companion on the train identified himself as  second son of Saltpen Jago - Bertle.
  • Sletherby lost his purse and associated Bertie with foulplay as he said that his mother had brown coloured hair.
  • Sletherby was not knowing that Jago had changed her hair to blonde. One doubt prompted another and he didn't trust Bertie. Be that as it may, Bertie had not lied and it was a misinterpretation.
