Mrs Packletide and Loona Bimberton were two ladies of rich class families. They were envious of each other's progress.Once Loona Bimberton was carried by an Algerian aviator which outraged Mrs Packletide. She could not see everyone just talking about Loona.

So she decided to hunt a tiger for which she kept a paid companion Miss Mebbin who was very clever and greedy . She also hired villagers to arrange an easy hunt for her. Everything was perfect but at the time of hunt she shot goat instead of tiger. She had to give a large amount to Miss Mebbin so as to keep her mouth shut.

However her lust to kill that tiger was fulfilled. She arranged a party in honour of Loona Bimberton which she denied to attend. She also presented a tiger claw brooch to Loona Bimberton. Loona Bimberton didn't read the newspapers of magazines till many days since they were appreciating Mrs Packletide. Mrs Packletide wanted to outshine Loona Bimberton which she did and fulfilled her heart's desire. However she had to pay heavy expenses for this.
