Mitochondria can seldom self replicate and have their own DNA so, independent on it.
They possess their own ribosomes.
They grow internally
For a bonus point; Mitochondria DNA produces it's own mRNA, tRNA and RRNA.

DavidOtunga: If you wish I will help with your studying in biology.
Manan0015: ok

As we know mitochondria have their own ribosome (70s type) and have their own rna thats why it is semi autonomous
