It is the fact that nucleus is the control room of the cell.As it is the master commander of all the metabolic activities that take place in the cell.It is also veracious that nucleus has DNA in it which codes the gene product.

Mitochondria and plastids too posses DNA which is also technically termed as the EXTRA CHROMOSOMAL DNA,that these organelles posses their own DNA to code the proteins to carry out important metabolic activities like photosynthesis and respiration.But they are not completely independent from the hold of nucleus thereby they r also called as semiautinomous  organelles
