Arunachal Pradesh has a population of 1,382,611 and an area of 83,743 square Km. An official statement issued by the Uttar Pradesh government said Additional Chief Secretary, Secondary and Higher Education, Sanjay Agarwal signed the MoU on behalf of the state government.
Arunachal Pradesh was represented by Tourism Secretary Joram Beda, while Education Secretary W R Lyngdoh signed the MoU on behalf of the Meghalaya government.
"Under the 'Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat' programme, efforts are being made to boost cultural relationship between different states of the country. Under this, the states will connect with each other to know more about the culture, heritage and traditions of each other," UP Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said.
