what is a mixed fraction?

A mixed fraction is a fraction which has a whole no. and fraction of something for example I took a pizza and ate 1 ²/4 of it.

meaning I ate 1 whole pizza which has 4 slices = 4/4

and another pizza but only 2 slices out of 4 slices = 2/4
