If there is no other information provided, all you know is that the result will be somewhere in between. If you mix 80°C water and 20°C water, you’ll get water that has the temperature between 20°C and 80°C. And NOT THE AVERAGE. If you put one drop of 80°C water into a glass of 20°C water, obviously you won’t get 50°C water; you’ll get the temperature infinitesimally above 20°C.
