The electronic configuration of Mn2+ ions is [Ar]3d54s0.

It has 5 unpaired electrons in its d-orbitals which maximum value for a transition metal ions .

While Mn3+ ions has electronic configuration is [Ar]3d⁴4s0 .

So, Mn2+ ions is more stable than Mn3+ ions .
