Answer:

  1. Let's balance oxygen atoms first,

there are 2 atoms of of oxygen in the reactants and 3 in the products ,

3MnO2 +Al = Mn + 2Al2O3

2. Now balance Al and Mn,

3MnO2 +4Al =3Mn + 2Al2O3

BALANCED EQUATION:

3MnO2+ 4Al =3Mn+ 2Al2O3

Balancing the Given chemical equation:

MnO₂ + Al = Mn +  Al₂O₃

For balancing the chemical equation follow these Steps :

1. Tag Each Compound With a Variable:

  aMnO₂ + bAl = dMn + cAl₂O₃

2. Create a Equations System, One Per Element:

  Mn :         1a + 0b = 0c + 1d

  O :         2a + 0b = 3c + 0d

  Al :         0a + 1b = 2c + 0d

3. Solve For All Variables

 a = 3,  b = 4, c = 2, d = 3

4. Substituting the values of Variables

  3MnO₂ + 4Al = 3Mn  +  2Al₂O₃

Hence the, BALANCED EQUATION:

3MnO₂ + 4Al = 3Mn + 2Al₂O₃
