Does anyone have experience with using mobile phone camera chips for PTV (Particle Tracking velocimetry). We have a new MSc student project with an aim of setting up PTV for a simple water flow and we have a very limited budget. I have found on the web that the camera chips can be bought complete with a circuit board mounted lens system for a few quid. For PTV we would need to simultaneously trigger at least three cameras and then download the data to storage ready for the next frame. If you have any knowledge of these things please get in touch..
