We classify mode of nutrition on two basis- autotrophic mode of nutrition and heterotrophic mode of nutrition. Heterotrophic mode of nutrition refers to when an organism is dependent on another organism for its food. Heterotrophic new nutrition is further divided into three categories- parasitic, saprophytic and holozoic. Parasatic mode of nutrition refers to win an organism is independent on another organism for its food. The parasite lives as a host on another organisms body and carries out its nutrition. For example, flies and lease etc.
