A floral design on a floor is made up of 16 tiles which are triangular, the sides of the triangle being 9 cm, 28 cm and 35 cm . Find the cost of polishing the tiles at the rate of 50p per cm .

Given:

⇒a=35cm,b=28cm,c=9cm

solution:

⇒Semi perimeter of tile 

\sf\red{ =  \frac{ a + b + c}{2} }

⇒Semi perimeter of tile 

\sf\red{ =  \frac{35 + 28 + 9}{2} } = 36c

_________________________

⇒Area of Δ

\sf\red{ =  \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)} }

\sf\red{⇒ =  \sqrt{36(36 - 35)(36 - 28)(36 - 9)} } =  \sqrt{36 \times 1 \times 8 \times 27}

⇒ = 36 \times 2.45 = 88.2 {cm}^{2}

⇒Area of total 16 tiles

\sf\red{ = 16 \times 88.2 = 1411.2 {cm}^{2} }

⇒Cost of polishing per cm2 area =50p

⇒Cost of polishing 1411.2cm2 area
