Probability = Number of favourable outcomes/ Total number of outcomes.

(a) Numbers greater than 4 are 5 and 6.

So, number of favourable outcomes = 2.

Total number of outcomes = 6.

Therefore, P(getting a no. greater than 4) = 2/6 = 1/3. [Using the formula]

(b) Even numbers in a dice are 2,4 and 6.

So, number of favourable outcomes = 3.

Total number of outcomes = 6.

Hence, P (getting an even no.) = 3/6 =1/2. [Using the formula]
