Given:-

  • Height of the body is 20m
  • Accelartion of body is 10m/s²

To find :-

  • Velocity required to reach the ground
  • Time required to reach the ground

SOLUTION :-

Since as it is dropped its initial velocity will be 0

  • u = 0
  • a = 10m/s²
  • h = 10m (S= 10m)

From equations of motuion,

v² - u² = 2as

We can find velocity of a body

v² - 0 = 2(10)(10)

v² = 400

v = 20m/s

So, the velocity required to the body to strike the ground is 20m/s

From equations of motion Also we know,

v = u + at

20 = 0 + 10t

10t = 20

t = 2 seconds

Since it takes 2 seconds to the ground with velocity 20m/s

Know more some formulae

  • S = ut + 1/2 at²
  • S = vt - 1/2 at²
  • S = v²-u²/2a
  • u = v - at
  • a = v² -u²/2s

Here ,

  • S = Diatance
  • a = accelartion
  • t = time taken
  • v = final velocity
  • u = initial velocity
