spread by polluted water. These include diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid. Families using water from uncove
ponds or wells are likely to suffer more frequently from all those infections than those whose water com
from protected sites. An adequate supply of water is also neded for personal cleanliness and general hygie
in the home. Health workers should encourage the people to use clean water and harvest the rain water
