Step-by-step explanation:

Given Mohan and Ganpat are sharing profits and losses in the ratio 2:3. They admitted Vipul for 1/4th share in future profit. Calculate new profit sharing ratio.

  • So Mohan’s share will be 2/5
  • Ganpat’s old share will be 3/5
  • Now Vipul is admitted for 1/4th share
  • Let future profit be 1
  • Now remaining share will be 1 – ¼
  •                                                  = ¾
  •   So Mohan’s new share will be 2/5 x ¾ = 6/20
  •    Also Ganpat’s new share will be 3/5 x ¾ = 9/20
  • Therefore new profit sharing ratio after Vipul is admitted                                   will be ¼ x 5/5 = 5/20
  • So the ratio will be 6:9:5
