Step-by-step explanation:

Let Sunil have rs. x with him & Mohan have rs. y.

Then, according to the question,

x + 30 = (y - 30) + 40

=> x + 30 = y + 10

=> x - y = -20

Now, again sunil gave rs.40 to Mohan, so,

x - 40 = (y + 40) ÷ 3

=> 3x - 120 = y + 40

=> 3x - y = 160

By elimination method,

3x - y - x + y = 160 + 20

=> 2x = 180

=> x = 90

Now, initial amount with Mohan was,

x - y = -20

=> 90 - y = -20

=> 90 + 20 = y

=> y = rs. 110
