mohan bhought a certain numbers of mangoes of which 13% are rotten. he gave75% of the remainder is charityand then had 261 left.how many mangoes did he buy

Hey!!

Let the total number of mangoes be x

13 % are rotten = 13 × x/100 = 0.13x

Remaining mangoes = x - 0.13x = 0.87x

75 % 0f remaining mangoes given in charity = 75 × 0.87x/100

= 0.6525x

Therefore we know that,

total number of mangoes = 13 % are rotten + 75 % of the remaining given in charity + number of mangoes left

⇒ x = 0.13x + 0.6525x + 261

⇒ x = 0.7825x + 261

⇒ x - 0.7825x = 261

⇒ 0.2175x = 261

⇒ x = 261/0.2175

total number of mangoes = 1200  Answer
