Answer: The cost price of water purifier.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the cost price of water purifier (RO). So,

gain= 25% of x= 0.25*x ( Because Mohan sold it at a gain of 25%)

Selling price of RO= cost price + gain= x+0.25x= 1.25x

But if he had bought it 20% more and sold it for rs 1136 more, he would have gained  16%. So,

New cost price= x+20%x= x+0.20x= 1.20x

New gain= 16% of 1.20x= 0.16*1.20x= 0.192x

New selling price= 1.25x+1136

Now,

New gain= New selling price - New cost price

0.192x= 1.25x+1136-1.20x

0.192x= 0.05x+1136

0.192x-0.05x= 1136.

0.142x= 1136

x= 1136/0.142= 1136/142*1000= 8000

Therefore, the cost price of water purifier is rs 8000.

Answer: let cp=100

25% profit so sp= 125

20% more sold then 16%profit so sp=125+125×16/100

=139.2

Deefrent beetwin sp =139.2-125

=14.2

so 100/14.2×1136=8000
