Answer:

The amount which is deposited (or credited) by Mohan = 2000. The amount which is withdrawn (or debited) by Mohan = 1642. ∴ x = -1642. ∴ The amount deposited is represented by a positive integer i.e., +2000

\huge\boxed{\blue{Given :}}

➣ The Amount deposited by Mohan in his bank account = ₹ 2,000

➣ The Amount withdrawn by Mohan the next day from his bank account = ₹ 1,642

➣ Balance in Mohan's account after the withdrawal

\huge\boxed{\pink {Solution :}}

➪ Balance in Mohan's account = Amount deposited - Amount withdrawn

⇒Balance in Mohan's account = ₹ 2,000 - ₹ 1,642

⇒Balance in Mohan's account = ₹ 358

➦ So, the balance in Mohan's account after the withdrawal is ₹ 358

And

If we represent withdrawal by negative (-ve) integer then the amount deposited will be represented by positive (+ve) integer.
