Given  :  Mohan takes 15 min to go from his home to school and 30 min for the return journey. distance between the school and the home is 4.5 km

To Find : average velocity and speed

Solution:

Mohan takes 15 min to go from his home to school and 30 min for the return journey

Total Time = 15 + 30  = 45 min

=> Total Time == 45/60  = 3/4  hrs

Total Distance =  4.5 + 4.5 = 9 km

Total Displacement = 0 km  ( as he return back to original position)

Average Velocity =  Displacement / Total Time

= 0/(3/4)

= 0

Average Speed =  Total Distance / Total Time

= 9/(3/4)

= 12 km /hr

12  * 5/18   m/s

= 10/3

= 3.33  m/s
