Length of side along the road-: 70m

Length of side along the river -: 140m

Area of trapezium =

A = 1/2 x h x (a + b)

A = Area

H = height

(A+B) = Sum of parallel sides

______________________________

Explanation-:

Given,

Area of trapezium field -:

10,500 m^2

Height = Perpendicular distance

between two parallel sides

=100m

Also,

Side along the river is twice the side

along the road.

Let the side along the road = X m

Side along the river -: Twice of x

= 2x

Now ,

Area of trapezium -:

1/2 x height (sum of parallel sides )

10,500 = 1/2 x 100(x + 2x)

10500= (3x) x 50

10,500 = 150 x

150 x = 10,500

X = 10,500/150

X = 70

Therefore ,

Side along the road -: x m = 70m

and

Side along the river-: 2x m -:

2 x 70

140 m

Length of side along the road-: 70m

Length of side along the river -: 140m
