Here we are given the area of the trapezium field to be 10500 m²

The distance between the parallel side is 100 m

Let the side along the river be 'y' and the side along road be 'x'

According to the condition,  the side along the river is parallel to and twice the side along the road

y = 2x

We have to find the length of the side along the river, that is the value of y

Area of trapezium = \frac{1}{2} × (sum of parallel sides) × distance between parallelsides

putting the values

10500 = \frac{1}{2}\times (x+y) \times 100\\\\105\times 2 = x + y\\210 = x + 2x\\210 = 3x \\x = 70

therefore, y = 2 × 70

                    = 140

The length of the side along the river is 140 m
