Correct option is A)

Let the parallel sides of the trapezium-shaped field be

x

mand

2x

m.

Let a=x and b=2x and h=100m

Then, its area.

=

2

1

(a+b)×hm

2

=

2

1

(x+2x)×100m

2

=50×3xm

2

=150xm

2

But it is given that the area of the field is 10500m

2

∴150x=10500

⇒x=

150

10500

=70

∴ The length of the side along the river is 2×70, i.e., 140m.

Let the parallel sides of the trapezium-shaped field be 'x' and '2x'm

let a =x and b 2x and h= 100 m

then its area

= 1/2 (a+b) × h m²

= 1/2 (x+2x) × 100m²

= 50 ×3x m² = 150x m²

But it is given that the area of the field is 10500m²
