Mohan wants to stay in a hotel. The room rent is rs. 100 per day. He has 7 welded coins of denominations 100 each. The hotel leaves a condition that mohan cannot borrow money from him neither can he give money in advance. Whatever transaction happens, must be through any of the coins only. What is the minimum number of cuts which mohan shall make on the welded coin so that he can pay exactly 100 per day without violating any of the condition?

Since the room rent is Rs 100, and the denomination on the welded coin is 100, it means that he has 7 separate coins welded together.

Now the question is how many days Mohan wants to stay at the hotel, if he decides to stay for 1 day, then he has to cut one welded coin, which is the minimum.

And if he decides to stay for 2 days then there will be one cut, two welded coins will be cut just once and handed over to the hotel. And likewise for 3 days, 4 days...etc...

The answer therefore will be just one cut.
