Body mass index (BMI ) is defined as the weight in kilograms divided by the square of the height in metres.

Body mass index BMI used to find out if an adult is overweight or undernourished adults. It is an index developed by the nutrition scientists.

BMI can be calculated by following the given steps:

1.Measure the weight of the person in kilograms.

2. Measure the height of that person in metres.

3 Divide the weight by the square of the height.

4. If BMI is more than 25 then a person is considered overweight. If BMI is less than 18.5 then the person is undernourished.

Mohit's BMI :

Mohit's weight= 65 kg

Mohit's height = 1.4 m

Square of Mohit's height= 1.4²= 1.96

Mohit's BMI = Mohit's weight/ Square of Mohit's height

Mohit's BMI= 65 / 1.96

Mohit's BMI= 33.16

He is overweight Because his BMI is more than 25.
