Mohit swims in a 90 m long pool. He covers 360 m in one minute by swimming from one end to the other and back along the same straight path. Find the average speed and average velocity of Mohit.

Explanation:

Average Speed = Total distance/ Total time

Speed = 360/1 m/min = 360/60 m/s = 6m/s

distance = 90m

Time = distance/speed = 90/6 = 15second

Average Speed = Total distance/ Total time

Avg speed = (90 + 90)/(15 + 15) m/s

Avg speed = 180/30 m/s = 6m/s

Average Velocity = Total displacement/Total time

Here displacement is 0. (90 -90)

So, The Avg velocity is also 0
