Thus, x + 10x/100 = 1650
x+x/10 = 1650
10x + x = 1650
11x = 16500
x = 16500/11
x= 1500

Therefore, VAT = 1500 * 10%
VAT = 150

Therefore the amount of VAT is Rs. 150
