THE GURJARA-PRATIHARAS
The Gurjara-Pratiharas ruled over Avanti and parts of southern Rajasthan in
the beginning of the 18 century. They became famous after defeating the

kingdom intact. Mahmud of Ghazni invaded Kannauj in A.D. 1018-19. His
