Molar heat capacity is the amount of heat capacity that is required to raise the temperature of per unit amount i.e., per mole of a substance by one degree Celsius (or Kelvin).

Molar heat capacity has the units [Cmol] = J/mol-K.

Although heat capacity is an extensive property, it is sometimes expressed as the amount of substance, mass or volume, which has units of energy and is independent of the size of the sample.

Therefore, Molar heat capacity is an “Intensive property”.
