Molarity = Mass/(GMW) × 1000 / Volume(in ml)
= denisty × 1000 / (GMW)
= 1.17 g/cc × (1000 cc/L) / (36.5 g/mol)
= 32.05 M

∴ Molarity of solution is 32.05 M

Answer : The molarity of liquid HCl is, 32.05 mole/L

Explanation : Given,

Density of solution = 1.17g/cm^3=1.17g/ml

Molar mass of HCl = 36.5 g/mole

Molarity : It is defined as the number of moles of solute present in one liter of solution.

In this question, the solute is HCl.

Formula used :

Molarity=\frac{w_b}{M_b\times V}\times 1000\\\\Molarity=\frac{\rho}{M_b}\times 1000

where,

w_b = mass of solute HCl

M_b = molar mass of solute HCl

\rho = density

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get the molarity of the solution.

Molarity=\frac{1.17g/ml}{36.5g/mole}\times 1000=32.05mole/L

Therefore, the molarity of liquid HCl is, 32.05 mole/L
