☆QUESTION ☆

mole fraction of glucose in a solution (solvent having molecular mass 25 and is a liquid ) is 0.2. if density of solution is 1.4g/ml, then calculate molarity of the solution..

☆ANSWER ☆

molarity = no. of vol of solution (in ml)

vol of sol. = mass of sol

density

so it can be written as

no. of moles of solute *1000

no of moles of solute*molar mass +no. of moles of solvent *molar mass/desity (;. mass of sol=mass of solute +mass of solves )

let no of moles of solute = x and no of moles of solute =y

so, x*1000

x*180+y*25

density

= xsolute*1000*density .

x solute*180+y solvent *25

= 0.2*1000*1.4/ 0.2*180+0.8*25

=280/56

= 5M
