Molecular formula of three fatty acids A, B and C present in oil or fat are C 14H29 COOH,
CASH29COOH and C16H29COOH. Which of these is derived from i) Alkane ii) Alkene
iii) Alkyne? Which of them becomes rancid earlier? How can we increase its shelf life?

i) No one among them is derived from alkane as C12H29-COOH is not possible

ii) ALKENE

C15H29-COOH as alkyl branch ( C15H30 ) is of the form CnH2n i.e. general form of alkene

iii)ALKYNE

C16H29-COOH as alkyl branch ( C16H30 ) is of form CnH2n-2 i.e. general form of alkyne
