Nitrogen:

Atomic form of nitrogen : N

Molecular form of Nitrogen : N2

so , the atomic weight of Nitrogen is 14 a.m.u.

(a.m.u. atomic mass unit )

therefore ,

Molecular weight of nitrogen is =

2 times the weight of atomic weight

=> 2 X 14

=> 28 a.m.u.

so,

molecular weight of Nitrogen is 28.

Points to remember:

  1. Nitrogen exists in the atmosphere in the form of N2
  2. Atomic weight of Nitrogen is 14 a.m.u.
  3. a.m.u is atomic mass unit

Hope this is useful..
