Oxygen was not produced on early earth.

  1. The early earth's surface was in molten form. On cooling the gases released were carbon dioxide ammonia, water vapour and methane.
  2. These gases were formed by reaction between atoms and free radicals.
  3. The above mentioned reactions were assisted by UV rays, lighting and high temperature.
  4. The presence of mentioned four gases on primitive earth was proved by Stanley Miller.
