Answer:

PRESSURE = FORCE/AREA

FROM THIS WE GET AREA =FORCE/PRESSURE

SO AREA =300/200 m²

AREA = 3/2 m² OR 1.5m²

Given:

  • Weight, w = 300N
  • Pressure, P = 200N/

Find:

  • Area of contact with the ground, A

Solution:

we, know that

 \small\boxed{ \sf P =  \dfrac{w}{A} }

where,

  • P = 200N/
  • w = 300N

So,

 \small{ \to\sf P =  \dfrac{w}{A} }

 \small{ \to\sf 200 =  \dfrac{300}{A} }

Do, Cross-multiplication

 \small{ \to\sf 200A = 300}

 \small{ \to\sf A =  \dfrac{300}{200} }

 \small{ \to\sf A =  \cancel{ \dfrac{300}{200} } =  \dfrac{3}{2} }

 \small{ \to\sf A = \dfrac{3}{2} = 1.5 {m}^{2} }

 \small{ \to\sf A = 1.5 {m}^{2} }

 \small{ \underline{ \therefore \sf Area = 1.5 {m}^{2}  }}
