Moment of inertia aka angular mass or rotational inertia can be defined w.r.t. rotation axis, as a quantity that decides the amount of torque required for a desired angular acceleration or a property of a body due to which it resists angular acceleration.

Moment of inertia is a measure of inertia of the body when the body is rotating about an axis.

It is found by summation of mass * square of radius of gyration for all particles in the object.

Moment of inertia plays a part ,similar to mass in linear kinetics, in rotaional dynamics.
