Also,
If the direction of a moving body changes to its opposite it's momentum becomes negative
For example- If you throw a ball towards a wall and it hits the wall and bounces back, and you consider the direction towards wall to be +ve then -
- while going towards the wall, the ball will have +ve momentum
- and -ve while coming back
