Mona had never in her wildest imagination thought that she would ever
get an opportunity to be in a hall crowded with the most elite crowd in
England. She remembered her best friend, Tom, telling her that life is
like a box of chocolates. You never know what you would get next. Self-
consciously she entered the ballroom and felt the eyes of the huge
grandfather’s clock staring down at her. She saw some smartly dressed
stewards straight off towards her right and left. She saw Sam looking
exceedingly handsome in the black tuxedo and it seemed as if her heart
just skipped a beat. For a split second it seemed as if time had frozen for
her and all that she could hear was the “tick, tick, tick” of the clock. He
was definitely a prince surrounded by the peasants of his realm.
